Screw conveyors for flour and food powders
The problem
Flour and fine food powders lift into the air at every transfer. Dust settling on machines and on the building structure means lost raw material, extra daily cleaning and, at high concentrations, a dust explosion risk.
The second problem is the product change: if the route cannot be opened and cleaned completely, residues from the previous lot end up in the next one — unacceptable when one of the products contains allergens.
What we deliver
A U-trough screw with removable covers along its whole length, so the route can be opened and cleaned completely between lots.
AISI 304 stainless for ordinary dry powders, or AISI 316L where the product or the cleaning brings chlorides and acids.
An enclosed route from big bag discharge through to the downstream machine, so the powder never reaches the hall atmosphere.
Product-specific shaft seals and feed openings positioned on the existing machines in your plant.

For a customer in the chemical industry we built a complete line in which the raw material travels enclosed from intake through to the packed product: discharge, internal conveying, mixing, gravimetric dosing and feeding of the packing line.
