Industrial mixers for the chemical industry

The problem

Chemical compositions attack ordinary steel, and they do it first exactly where the mixing happens — the part of the machine that is hardest to repair. A build specified one grade too low corrodes there and takes the machine out of service.

The second problem is the powder itself: it must not reach the hall atmosphere, both for operator protection and because every gram lost as dust is raw material paid for and not sold. And when recipes change frequently on the same line, the batch record is what proves there was no cross-contamination.

What we deliver

  • AISI 316L construction where the composition contains chlorides or acids, and AISI 304 where it does not — specified to the duty rather than by default.

  • Closed discharge and conveying circuits, from big bag emptying to the packing machine, with no dust released into the hall.

  • Gravimetric dosing with a weighing report for every batch, so the recipe used is documented rather than assumed.

  • The mixer construction chosen for the recipe: ribbon for free-flowing powders, ploughshare where an additive under 1 % has to be distributed evenly, a jacketed reactor where temperature is part of the process.

  • The automation that runs the flow as one system, with stored recipes.

Reference

For a customer in the chemical industry we built a complete mixing, dosing and packing line: raw material discharge at intake, internal conveying, recipe mixing, precision gravimetric dosing and feeding of the packing line, with the whole flow automated. The customer asked not to be named.

Send us the recipe and the batch volume

From the composition, the corrosiveness and the batch size we derive the mixer type and the build material — we send back the technical proposal.
